Displacement pump, has an expanding cavity on the suction side and a decreasing cavity on the discharge side. Liquid flows into the pumps as the cavity on the suction side expands and the liquid flows out of the discharge as the cavity collapses. the volume is constant given each cycle of operation. Tt cannot be ran with closed delivery valve.
It can do self priming, but it is not recommended to run the pump dry.
Maintenance should be done as schedule.
When installing the pump, make sure it can rotate freely.
It is used for sludge transferring, and sometimes it is used as OWS bilge circulating pump.
Vane pump
All vane pumps have a rotor driven within a ring (cam ring) by a drive shaft coupled to a prime mover. A cylindrical rotor with sliding vanes . As the rotor turns, the vanes are forced outward aginst the inner surface of the cam ring by centrifugal force.
