Along the passage from first stage to discharge valve, the air uner compression will increase in temperature that must be cooled. This is accomplished by intercoolers using water as its cooling medium.

The tandem piston has two profile with 2 sets of sealing rings. Cooling of piston is done by lubricating oil splashing while the liner is lubricated by lubricatiors fitted along the liner circumference.

Condensation from the air is drained off through the "drain cocks" periodically during operation. A unloader is an electrically controlled valve fitted at the first stage "intercooler". An un-loader also  opens up for draining during the starting / stopping period of a compressor to reduce the load on the electric motor.
